RAYNHAM — Chief Bryan LaCivita is pleased to announce that at-home COVID-19 self-test kits will be available for Raynham residents at a drive-up distribution event on Saturday.
WHEN:
Saturday, March 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
WHERE:
Raynham Fire Department, 37 Orchard St.
WHAT:
The Raynham Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will distribute at-home rapid antigen COVID-19 self-test kits on a first-come-first-served basis while supplies last.
This will be a drive-up event, and those receiving test kits will not need to exit their vehicle. Kits will be given out in the rear of the fire department.
Any Raynham resident is eligible to receive a kit, which includes two tests. Residents are limited to two self-test kits per household. Residents will be required to show proof of residency when picking up the self-test kits.
These self-test kits were made available following the Raynham Board of Selectmen’s approval of federal funds to purchase them.
At-home COVID-19 rapid antigen tests are a fast, easy and convenient way to screen for COVID-19. All residents are also encouraged to order at-home COVID-19 tests from the federal government. Each U.S. household is entitled to free rapid COVID-19 tests, which can be ordered online at COVIDtests.gov. At the outset of the program, each household will be limited to four tests, which will be shipped for free to homes via the United States Postal Service. Ordering is as simple as entering your name and address.
Information and guidance on self-testing can be found on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website here. For guidance from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health on what to do if you test positive, click here.
