LITTLETON – Chief Matthew Pinard reports that the Littleton Police Department, in collaboration with its law enforcement partners, have arrested a Revere man in connection with an armed robbery in January.

ETHAN C. BERLIN, 23, OF REVERE, was arrested on Thursday and charged with:

  • Armed Robbery
  • Larceny Over $1,200
  • Witness Intimidation
  • Larceny From A Person
  • Malicious Destruction Of Personal Property, More Than $1,200

On Monday, Jan. 17, at about 8:40 p.m., Littleton Police responded to the parking lot at 1208 Constitution Ave., for a report of a person possibly being robbed at gunpoint. Upon their initial investigation, Littleton Police learned that the victim had agreed to meet another party in the parking lot to complete an online transaction for the sale of two puppies.

The other party, later determined to be BERLIN, arrived in a car with several people, allegedly showed what appeared to be a handgun, took the puppies, and robbed the victim of personal items. No one was injured.

Following an investigation by Littleton Police Detectives and numerous other law enforcement agencies in Eastern Massachusetts, BERLIN was identified as the alleged suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

BERLIN was taken into custody without incident on Thursday in Revere at his residence by Revere and Littleton Police and the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section.

“I want to thank the Revere Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, and all of our law enforcement partners for their assistance in this ongoing investigation,” said Deputy Chief Jeff Patterson.

BERLIN was later transported to Ayer District Court for arraignment.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. The location of the puppies remains unknown.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Littleton Police Department at 978-540-2300.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
