HULL — Superintendent Judith Kuehn and Hull Police Chief John Dunn wish to recognize School Resource Officer Leanne Marshalsea as part of National School Resource Officer (SRO) Appreciation Day.
On Feb. 15, schools and police departments take time to reflect on the critical role SROs play in supporting students and staff while fostering a safe learning environment during National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day.
Officer Marshalsea has been with the Hull Public Schools since 2018. She has been dedicated to assisting students, families, educators and administrators while making their safety her main priority.
“Officer Marshalsea has been able to establish amazing relationships with members of our community during her three and a half years in the district,” Superintendent Kuehn said. “School Resource Officers ensure the safety and comfort of students and staff. We are grateful to have an SRO who cares so deeply about our students.”
During her time in the Hull Public Schools, Officer Marshalsea has facilitated ALICE Active Shooter training for staff, bullying and sexual harassment education for students, bus evacuation drills and “stranger danger” training, and assists in school-wide lockdown drills. She supports the community at assemblies, school events and during the holidays by teaching Halloween safety.
“Without Officer Marshalsea, we would not have the ability to perform our jobs as efficiently and effectively as we do,” Hull High School Principal Nicole Nosek said. “She performs the important task of teaching students how to stay safe. School Resource Officers are truly the unsung heroes of school districts and we would like to recognize and thank Officer Marshalsea for all she does.”
