BEDFORD — The Bedford Police Department arrested a man early this morning after he allegedly fired shots inside a hotel room, which pierced the door of another room nearby.
CHRISTOPHER A. EGGLESTON, AGE 37, OF BEDFORD was arrested and charged with Reckless Conduct with a Deadly Weapon, a felony.
At 12:06 a.m., Bedford Police were dispatched to the Hampton Inn, 8 Hawthorne Drive, for a report of disorderly conduct. Upon arrival, officers initiated an on-scene investigation through which they learned that a guest reported a loud noise. During the investigation, officers observed evidence of a firearm being discharged from one room into another.
Officers subsequently located a male suspect in a stairwell, later identified as EGGLESTON. A search of EGGLESTON’S room yielded a semi-automatic Glock handgun. EGGLESTON was taken into custody without incident.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
EGGLESTON was held without bail pending his arraignment in Hillsborough County Superior Court North, which was expected today.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
