WOBURN — Superintendent Dr. Matthew Crowley is pleased to announce that Woburn Public Schools will increase the pay rate for substitute teachers throughout the district beginning in 2022.
Following approval from the School Committee last week, Woburn Public Schools will hike substitute teacher pay to $125 per day, up from $95 per day.
“Substitute teachers make valuable contributions in all of our schools by stepping up to fill the void when a full-time teacher is out sick or on leave,” Superintendent Crowley said. “We believe this change better reflects the important role substitutes play in educating our students.”
There is a need for substitute teachers throughout the district, and most substitutes will have the opportunity to work several days each week.
Anyone who has completed at least two years of post-secondary education is encouraged to apply to become a substitute teacher in Woburn. To learn more, visit woburnpublicschools.com.
