GLOUCESTER – Mayor Sefatia Romeo Theken is pleased to share with the community that two COVID-19 vaccination clinics are scheduled to be held in the City of Gloucester, with both clinics offering vaccines for children ages 5 to 11.
The first clinic will be held by Mass General Brigham Saturday, Dec. 11, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gloucester Family Health Center, 302 Washington St., Gloucester, MA, with participants receiving a $25 gift card to Stop & Shop or Market Basket while supplies last. The clinic is open to anyone age 5 or older.
The clinic will offer first and second doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, which has been approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration for those ages 5 and older.
Individuals do not have to be Mass General Brigham patients to receive a free vaccine, and health insurance is not required. Children ages 5 to 17 will need a signed parental/guardian consent form, though parents do not need to be present.
Preregistration is strongly encouraged. To preregister, contact Bailey Bollen by emailing: bbollen@partners.org.
A pediatric vaccine clinic will held by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Saturday, Dec. 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Gloucester High School Field House, 32 Leslie O Johnson Road, Gloucester, MA.
The clinic will provide first and second does of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to up to 150 children ages 5 to 11 who have a signed parental/guardian consent form and are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Walk-ins will be accepted at this clinic. A link to register in advance for this clinic will be provided at a later date.
“COVID-19 vaccines are a safe and effective way to help protect yourself, your family and your community from COVID-19 and emerging variants like Omicron,” said Mayor Romeo Theken. “We encourage anyone with doubts about vaccines to contact a trusted medical provider, and encourage those interested in obtaining a vaccine to attend a clinic.”
