RAYNHAM — In the spirit of the holiday season, Chief Bryan LaCivita is pleased to announce that the Raynham Fire Department will once again be collecting donations for its Secret Santa toy drive and hosting its Santa Run throughout town.
“Our fire personnel are eagerly awaiting our third annual Santa Run throughout the town and are excited to host our Secret Santa toy drive once again for the community,” Chief LaCivita said. “Every year, these two events help us spread some holiday cheer and give back to our community. We hope to see our community members come out and assist us in our efforts.”
Secret Santa Collection
The Raynham Fire Department will be collecting new, unwrapped toys and monetary donations for Raynham’s Secret Santa toy drive at the two Walmarts in Raynham next Friday and Saturday:
- On Friday, Nov. 26, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Raynham firefighters will be collecting donations at the Walmart on Paramount Drive, 36 Paramount Dr.
- On Saturday, Nov. 27, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Raynham firefighters will be collecting donations at the Walmart on Broadway, 160 Broadway.
Community members should note that the donation events at both locations will be on two consecutive days and not concurrently.
Those who wish to drop off donations at the Raynham Fire Station, 37 Orchard St., can do so as well up until the last day of the drive. Secret Santa donations will be accepted through Friday, Dec. 17.
Families that would like to be added to this year’s Secret Santa list can email Deputy Chief Barrett Johnson at secretsantaraynham@gmail.com or call the fire station at 508-824-2713.
Santa Run
The Raynham Fire Department, with assistance from the Raynham Police Department, will escort Santa Claus around town on Saturday, Dec. 4, and Sunday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. to about 4:30 p.m. The event will start and end at the Raynham Fire Department headquarters, 37 Orchard St.
During the event, residents will have the opportunity to see Santa Claus waving from a fire truck while being escorted by Raynham Fire and Police volunteers. On the morning of the runs, a Google Maps link will be shared so residents can track Santa’s location throughout town. Residents are also encouraged to monitor the Raynham Fire Department’s Facebook for location updates on the days of the runs.
Throughout Santa’s ride around town, the Raynham Fire Department will also be collecting donations for its Secret Santa toy collection. Residents who wish to donate during the Santa Run are asked to wait until a volunteer approaches them instead of approaching any of the department’s apparatus themselves.
Questions about the Santa Run should be directed to Lt. Jason Karns at jkarns@raynhamfire.com.
