MEDWAY — Superintendent Armand Pires, Director of Wellness Dr. Ryan Sherman and Medway Board of Health Agent Beth Hallal are pleased to announce that the district will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for students ages 5-11 this week.
WHEN:
Thursday, Nov. 18 from 3-6 p.m.
WHERE:
Burke-Memorial Elementary School cafeteria, 16 Cassidy Lane, Medway
WHAT:
The clinic is open to children ages 5-11 only. Parents/guardians wishing to have their child vaccinated against COVID-19 are encouraged to register here. Walk-ins will be accepted while supplies last.
Offered in partnership with the Medway Board of Health, the clinic will administer first doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, which has been authorized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration for those ages 5 and older. The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is a two-dose regimen, with three weeks between first and second doses.
After students are vaccinated, they will also be able to participate in a photo opportunity and other fun activities, as well as receive a sweet treat.
Vaccines are free. Identification is not required. Insurance is not required, though attendees are asked to bring their insurance cards should they have insurance. Consent forms can be completed through the clinic registration link, and paper copies will also be available at the clinic.
“We are pleased to be able to provide this vaccination opportunity to the newest eligible group of students, and we’d like to thank the Medway Board of Health for their continued partnership throughout the pandemic,” Dr. Sherman said. “Vaccinating students helps to protect our district and community as a whole and we encourage parents/guardians to register their child for this week’s clinic.”
Attendees will be required to wear masks and maintain physical distance, in accordance with current Massachusetts guidelines regarding clinics.
The second dose clinic is currently scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 9 from 3-6 p.m. at the Burke-Memorial Elementary School cafeteria.
