ATTLEBORO — Chief Scott Lachance reports that the Attleboro Fire Department responded to a fire at a manufacturing facility that left one person significantly injured.
At about 2:42 p.m., Attleboro Fire was dispatched to 61 Union St. following a box alarm activation. Upon arrival, the fire at that location had been extinguished by the building’s sprinkler system.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a flash fire occurred inside the facility, which belongs to Composite Modules, and a male employee was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Attleboro Police and Fire Departments, as well as the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
Numerous agencies provided station coverage throughout Attleboro while firefighters responded to this incident.
