STONEHAM — Chief James McIntyre reports that the Stoneham Police Department is investigating after a woman died following a three-vehicle crash that led to three people being transported to local hospitals.
On Monday at about 9:10 a.m., a Stoneham Police Department officer was patrolling in the area of Franklin and Pine streets when he came upon a three-vehicle crash that had just occurred. The Officer reported the crash to dispatchers and began efforts to assist those involved.
The Stoneham Police Department, Stoneham Fire Department, and Cataldo Ambulance worked together to transport two of the drivers and a passenger to local hospitals with unknown injuries. The passenger who was transported was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by Stoneham Police and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office with assistance from state troopers from the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and troopers from the State Police detective unit assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.
