LAKEVILLE — Police Chief Matthew Perkins reports that the Lakeville Police Department is actively investigating a bank robbery that occurred Monday afternoon.

Lakeville Police responded to the Eastern Bank branch located at 45 Main Street at 3:10 p.m. for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers received a report that a suspect had passed a note to a teller demanding money.

The suspect showed no weapon and fled the bank with an undisclosed quantity of cash in a waiting vehicle.

Police believe that the getaway vehicle may have left from the parking lot of a closed bowling alley at 51 Main St.

The suspect is described as being dark-skinned, approximately 6-feet tall, and wearing a medical-style mask, blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

If anyone has any information or saw anything suspicious in the area, they are asked to contact Lakeville Police at 508-947-4422.

The robbery remains under investigation by the Lakeville Police Department and the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force.
