SOUTH EASTON — Superintendent Luis Lopes is pleased to announce the unveiling of a new Hawks sports logo.
The new logo features a Hawk, Southeastern’s mascot, with its beak facing Southeast on a compass rose representing the location of the school.
The idea for the new logo was first presented as a series of sketches by Advertising Design instructor Thomas Correia last spring.
Correia worked with Advertising Design students Lyssandra Rodriguez, Marily Debarros and Jeannie Gonzalez Lopez, all of Brockton, on final sketches and designs.
Co-instructor Wade Gomes and Marketing student Supreme Constantine, of North Easton, then took the sketches and selected color schemes, helping to bring the logo from a drawing on paper to a digital design by tracing it out using the Adobe Illustrator program.
“We have digitized the logo into a full-color embroidery file which will now be used on our new embroidery machine to produce hats, shirts, jackets and other custom Hawks gear to offer to the community,” Correia said.
Gear with the new logo will be available for purchase soon through the Hawk Shop.
“The Advertising and Design team and our students have worked together to create this design for us to offer Southeastern gear featuring the new logo for the upcoming holidays,” Vocational Director Mary Kobey said. “We are thrilled with the final product and excited to see the new logo on gear out in the community.”
