PEABODY — Superintendent Josh Vadala is pleased to announce that Burlington Stores has donated $5,000 to Peabody Public Schools in partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, and will present the gift at the grand opening of its new location in Peabody.
WHEN:
Friday, Oct. 29, at 7:45 a.m.
WHERE:
Burlington Stores, 300 Andover St.
WHAT:
Burlington Stores will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 29 to celebrate the grand opening of its new store, as well as its generous donation to Peabody Public Schools. Superintendent Vadala will be presented with an oversized check to symbolize the donation. Superintendent Vadala will speak at the event, along with a representative from Burlington Stores.
The district has selected McCarthy Elementary School to receive the donation. Through the donation, which comes in the form of AdoptAClassroom.org online credit, each teacher will be allotted a designated amount to purchase supplies for their classrooms and students. The credit can be used at the organization’s online marketplace, which consists of nearly 30 school specialty and office supply vendors, including Staples, Lakeshore Learning and Scholastic.
Items purchases will be sent directly from vendors to the school and will be the property of the school.
“On behalf of the Peabody Public Schools community, I would like to thank Burlington Stores for their generous and thoughtful donation. I also would like to thank AdoptAClassroom.org for their continued dedication to students and teachers across the country,” said Superintendent Vadala. “This donation will go a long way in providing students with many useful resources, and we are so grateful for it.”
