GLOUCESTER — Chief Edward Conley reports that the Gloucester Police Department arrested multiple people on drug charges on Monday.
DOMINIQUE FERRARA, AGE 24, OF GLOUCESTER, was charged with:
- Trafficking More Than 10 Grams of Fentanyl
- Possession of Class A Drug
- Possession of Class A Drug with Intent to Distribute
- Possession of Class B Drug
- Possession of Class B Drug with Intent to Distribute
- Possession of Class C Drug with Intent to Distribute
DEREK GIBBS, AGE 30, OF GLOUCESTER, was charged with:
- Trafficking More Than 10 Grams of Fentanyl
- Possession of Class A Drug
- Possession of Class B Drug with Intent to Distribute
On Monday, Oct. 25 at approximately 11:42 a.m., Gloucester Police were dispatched to Charlie’s Place, 83 Bass Ave, for reports of a womansleeping in a car. Upon arrival, officers found two individuals — later identified as FERRARA and GIBBS — asleep in the car.
Following an initial investigation, approximately 62.4 grams of suspected fentanyl
and 13.4 grams of suspected crack cocaine were allegedly found in FERRARA’s possession. These substances have an estimated street value of around $1,400. Approximately 20 suspectedmethadone pills, as well as 12.7 grams of suspected fentanyl, were allegedly found in GIBBS’ possession.
Cash, packaging and distribution materials were also located and seized by police.
On the same day, at approximately 6 p.m., Gloucester Police arrested a woman in the parking lot of Addison Gilbert Hospital, 298 Washington St, following an extensive drug investigation. The woman, who was later identified as MODESTA GOMEZ, is believed to have been there to take part in an alleged drug deal.
GOMEZ, AGE 26, OF LAWRENCE, was charged with:
- Trafficking More Than 10 Grams of Fentanyl
- Possession of Class B Drug (Suboxone)
- Possession with Intent to Distribute (Crack Cocaine)
During the investigation, approximately 287.2 grams of suspected fentanyl, 2.5 grams of suspected crack cocaine and one suboxone sublingual film strip were allegedly found in GOMEZ’s possession. The substances have an estimated street value of over $17,700.
All three were arraigned Tuesday in Gloucester District Court.
“All the officers involved did a great job evaluating the evidence on scene and arresting each suspect without incident,” Chief Conley said. “They successfully removed a significant amount of drugs from the supply chain and I commend them for their hard work. We will continue to take proactive efforts to ensure that these dangerous substances are kept off of the streets of Gloucester.”
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
