BRIDGEWATER — Chief Michael MacDermott is pleased to announce that the Bridgewater Fire Department will host an open house this weekend and invites the community to attend.
WHEN:
Saturday, Oct. 30 from noon to 4 p.m.
The open house will be sensory friendly from 10 a.m. to noon. It will be held rain or shine.
WHERE:
Bridgewater Fire Station 2 (Prattown), 774 Plymouth St.
WHAT:
The open house will include demonstrations of a tower truck; Jaws of Life (at 3 p.m.); CPR, AED and Narcan use; and fire extinguisher use. Additionally, there will be opportunities to check out fire gear, learn about Stop the Bleed and sign up for Bridgewater Seniors First.
Bridgewater students will also have the opportunity to win a ride to school in a fire truck by filling out a coupon during the open house.
The Bridgewater Firefighters Association (BFFA) will have breast cancer awareness t-shirts available for a $25 donation. The t-shirt proceeds will benefit the family of Bridgewater Firefighter Matt Rich whose wife, Karen, is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
Refreshments will be available from Juice Mill, Lou Lou’s Café and Mike Shea’s Coffee.
Also on Saturday, Oct. 30, a blood drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The blood drive will take place on the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women’s Hospital Blood Mobile at Bridgewater Fire Station 2. Appointments have been filled at this time, but walk-ins will be taken as time allows. A photo ID is required for all donors.
