For immediate release

AVON – Town Administrator Gregory S. Enos announces that the Town of Avon will continue its electricity aggregation program for another three years, between December 2021 and December 2024.

Those who already participate in the program – and that’s most of Avon residents and small businesses – don’t need to do anything to continue their participation. Those who have not been part of Avon’s Community Electricity Aggregation Program (CEA) can read more about the program on the program website Avon-CEA.com.

“We’re excited to renew the electricity program for another three years with stable, fixed rates,” Town Administrator Enos said. “The program will continue to provide benefits to our community for years to come.”

Avon CEA, which will continue with electricity supplier Dynegy, offers two different products: a default option and a 100% renewable electricity option for those who want to invest more in renewable energy. The table below shows the new Avon CEA rates.

Residents should note, savings cannot be guaranteed as compared to National Grid’s Basic Service rates, which change every six months for residential and commercial accounts and every three months for industrial accounts.

Current Avon residents and businesses who are participating in the Avon CEA program will be automatically transitioned to the new default electricity rate as of their November 2021 meter read date. Those participating in the program will see Dynegy–Avon listed as their Supplier in the Supply Services section of their National Grid utility bill.

The Avon CEA program, launched in July 2019, is part of a larger movement in Massachusetts to provide more local control and electricity choices to residents and small businesses. Over 160 Massachusetts cities and towns have an electricity aggregation program.

For more information about the program, visit Avon-CEA.com.
