STONEHAM — Chief James McIntyre wishes to share that Stoneham Police Department officers will be wearing camouflage uniform patches to honor the nation’s veterans during October.
Stoneham Police Department camouflage patches are being sold during October, with all proceeds to be donated to the Town of Stoneham’s Veterans Assistance Fund.
The Veterans Assistance Fund was established to help Stoneham veterans who find themselves in an emergency situation and can demonstrate a financial hardship.
Eligible expenses include medical bills or medications, purchasing durable medical equipment, paying for emergency auto repairs, utility payments, rent or mortgage arrearages, moving expenses, or emergency hotel stays.
Patches cost $10 each. Those interested may purchase patches at the station dispatch window, or by sending a check payable to the Stoneham Police Association to Stoneham Police Department, Attn: Erin Sinclair, 47 Central St., Stoneham, MA 02180. (Please enclose a postage-paid return-address envelope.)
For questions regarding the fund, eligibility or the application process, please call the Veterans Services Office at 781-279-2664 or contact Director of Veterans Services Melanie Mendel at email@example.com.
Chief McIntyre and the Stoneham Police Department wish to thank our veterans for their selfless service to our nation.
