ACTON — Town Manager John S. Mangiaratti and Sustainability Director Andrea Becerra invite residents to an open house to share their ideas for the Climate Action Plan (CAP).
WHEN
Saturday, Oct. 16, 2 to 4 p.m.
Rain date: Sunday, Oct. 17, 2 to 4 p.m.
WHERE
NARA Park Bathhouse Pavilion, 25 Ledge Rock Way
WHAT
Residents will have the opportunity to visit different stations to share their ideas on strategies for buildings and energy, mobility and nature-based solutions.
Additionally, there will be food and an activity for children and parents. Attendees also will have the chance to test drive an electric vehicle.
The event will adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols and masks will be required.
“It is our goal to have the development of the Climate Action Plan be a community-wide effort,” said Director Becerra. “Many residents have shown great enthusiasm in the CAP process. If you have not had a chance to participate, we encourage you to stop by on Saturday to share your ideas and voice your thoughts. Climate change affects us all, and your participation will help the town map out the actions to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, enhance nature-based solutions and advance the community towards an equitable and clean energy future.”

The final CAP will be published in the spring of 2022 and will list 15 to 20 prioritized strategies to curb community-wide greenhouse gas emissions during the next five to 10 years. The plan will include recommendations for buildings, energy, mobility and nature-based solutions. The town plans to complete the CAP blueprint by the end of 2021.
The CAP initiative is being led by Director Becerra, alongside local stakeholders, with technical assistance provided by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council.
