EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Paul O’Brien is pleased to report that Cecelia Cacciatore has been promoted to the rank of detective.
Detective Cacciatore was promoted to the rank of detective on Sept. 20, and is the first ever full-time female detective for the East Bridgewater Police Department.
Detective Cacciatore grew up in the Town of East Bridgewater and graduated from East Bridgewater High School in 2012. After high school, she attended the University of New Haven and graduated in May 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
During the summer of 2014, Detective Cacciatore began as an intern at the East Bridgewater Police Department. In 2016, she was appointed as permanent intermittent/reserve officer and graduated from the Plymouth Basic Reserve Academy.
In 2017 she was appointed to a full-time position and attended the 64th ROC Plymouth Police Academy, graduating in November 2017. While in the Police Academy, Detective Cacciatore broke the female physical training records for the 1 1/2-mile run and the 300-meter run. Upon graduating the Police Academy, Detective Cacciatore was assigned to patrol.
Detective Cacciatore has attended Sexual Assault Investigator Training, NLET (National Law Enforcement Training) on Child Exploitation, Street Cop Patrol Tactics, School Resource Officer Training, Narcotics Tactics for Patrol Training, RAD/radKIDS Training, Domestic Violence Outreach Training, Mental Health Outreach Training and ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children Training as well as other investigative training.
Her current assignments include:
- WEB Major Crimes and Drug Task Force Member
- ICAC-Internet Crimes against Children Task Force
- Sexual Assault Investigator
- PCO Outreach Officer/PCO HUB member
- Mental Health Outreach Officer
- Domestic Violence Outreach Officer
- RAD/radKIDS Instructor
She is also a past school resource officer for the department.
Detective Cacciatore’s hobbies include hiking, traveling, exercising, fundraising for special causes/events and spending time with her family and friends. She considers the best part of her job to be interacting with the community she grew up in as well as helping those in need.
“Detective Cacciatore has been an invaluable member of the East Bridgewater Police Department for several years, and during that time has held numerous positions with various responsibilities,” Chief O’Brien said. “She is highly deserving of this position, both due to her excellent skills as a police officer and her unwavering commitment to protecting and serving the community she has called home for her entire life. On behalf of the entire department I congratulate her on this latest achievement in her career.”
