LITTLETON — Town Administrator Anthony M. Ansaldi Jr. and the Select Board would like to share that the state’s #TrustTheFacts mobile vaccination bus will be stopping in town in conjunction with the family-friendly Oktoberfest celebration this weekend.

On Saturday, Oct. 2, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Vax Bus will be parked at the Littleton Fire Department, 20 Foster St.

The #TrustTheFacts mobile vaccination bus provides easy, free, and convenient COVID-19 vaccinations to those who are eligible.

“The mobile vaccination bus visited Littleton in August and is coming back to once again offer our community an easy and accessible way to get vaccinated,” Town Administrator Ansaldi said. “We encourage anyone who has not been vaccinated to attend, and to remain vigilant against COVID-19.”

Clinics are open to all ages 12 and older. No appointment is needed. Attendees do not have to show identification. Proof of health insurance is not required.

Vaccinations will take place at one of six stations inside the bus. The Vax Bus offers the two-dose Pfizer vaccine or the single-shot Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine. Those who receive the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine will receive a vaccination record card, which will include a time and date to receive a second dose.

The Vax Bus is authorized to administer third doses to those who are immunocompromised and received the Pfizer vaccine. Individuals seeking a third dose of the Pfizer vaccine are asked to bring their Vaccine Record Card, and asked to self-attest that they are eligible for a third dose of Pfizer.

The Vax Bus will not administer booster shots to the general public.

Elder and Human Services is offering free transportation to the clinic. Anyone needing a ride is asked to call the Dispatch Center at 978-844-6809.

Next door, at Fay Park, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Littleton Parks and Recreation and Community Education (PRCE) will be hosting the 2nd-annual Littleton Oktoberfest — a family-friendly event with music, games, a kids area, craft vendors, a wide selection of traditional Oktoberfest beers and authentic Bavarian-style food.

Oktoberfest is being held in conjunction with The Littleton Sub Shoppe and Littleton Cafe. The event is free and open to the public, with all proceeds benefiting the Littleton PRCE Scholarship Fund. The fund helps members of the Littleton community who need financial assistance to enroll in PRCE recreational offerings or Littleton Youth Sports Leagues.
