NORTH ATTLEBORO — Chief Christopher Coleman is pleased to announce that the North Attleboro Fire Department has received a $25,000 grant from the Bristol County Savings Bank’s Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation.
On Thursday, Sept. 9, the Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation marked its 25th anniversary with the presentation of a $25,000 grant to the North Attleboro Fire Department. The grant is part of the foundation’s efforts to support organizations that have been on frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“On behalf of the North Attleboro Fire Department, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Bristol County Savings Bank and its Charitable Foundation for their generous donation to our department,” Chief Coleman said. “With the funds from this grant, our department will be able to purchase vital protective equipment for our firefighters.”
The North Attleboro Fire Department will use the grant funds to purchase bailout equipment kits for firefighters. These personal kits include rope and tools that firefighters can use to escape should they become trapped in a burning building.
The donation to the North Attleboro Fire Department was part of $325,000 in funding that is being awarded to fire departments in 13 communities throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Northern Rhode Island with Bristol County Savings Bank branches. Since the Foundation was formed in 1996, more than $25 million has been committed to hundreds of local nonprofits.
