The Greater Cape Ann Community Collaborative is pleased to report that its clinics administered more than 300 vaccinations in August, as its standing clinics and community outreach efforts continue to show success in protecting its communities.
GCACC clinics administered 318 total vaccines in August, an increase of 73 percent over July. Of those, 166 vaccinations were first doses (a 55 percent increase over July), and 152 vaccinations were second doses (a 95 percent increase over July).
Doses administered at GCACC weekly standing clinics were:
Our Lady of Hope Parish Church, Ipswich: 64
Topsfield Fairgrounds: 62
Rockport Community Center: 56
Essex Library: 50
Hamilton-Wenham Senior Center: 17
Hamilton Public Safety Building: 9
GCACC staff also delivered vaccinations at two pop-up clinics, reinforcing its desire to use public spaces to promote vaccine awareness and COVID-19 education. On Aug. 3, 36 employees of Cole Landscaping of Ipswich and their families were vaccinated at a clinic coordinated with the company. On Aug. 26, 16 people received vaccinations at a pop-up clinic outside the Laughing Gull Café in Manchester-by-the-Sea.
Staff also delivered seven vaccinations through its mobile clinic, and administered one dose at Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield
“Now that Pfizer vaccine has been fully approved by the FDA and CDC, we hope that this will encourage those of you have been hesitant to get vaccinated to take the final step toward protecting you, your families and your community,” said Rachel Lee, Public Health Nurse for the Town of Hamilton and a leader of the Collaborative. “Only by working together, and everyone doing their part, can we end the pandemic.”
GCACC offers regular weekly clinics, with a variety of time slots available. The Collaborative also is coordinating new pop-up clinic events for the coming months.
GCACC clinics are open to all Massachusetts residents age 12 and older. Vaccines are free to all. Identification and health insurance are not required.
