MAYNARD — Chief Michael Noble reports that the Maynard Police Department is investigating after three individuals were shot early Saturday morning.
At 2:23 a.m., Maynard Police were dispatched to 2 Cindy Lane for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police determined that three teenage victims had suffered gunshot wounds and that the individual or individuals responsible were no longer on scene.
Officers provided immediate aid to the victims, who suffered injuries that are serious but not believed to be life-threatening at this time. All three were subsequently transported to area hospitals.
Police have determined following a preliminary investigation that the shooting occurred during a party at the home, which grew beyond the number of expected guests, though investigators do not have a firm estimate of how many were in attendance at this time.
Maynard Police are actively investigating this incident with support from the Massachusetts State Police, as well as Acton, Concord and Sudbury Police. The investigation is currently in its earliest phases and no suspects have been identified at this time, though Maynard Police believe the incident is isolated to the party.
This is a developing situation. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
