ROCKLAND — Superintendent Alan Cron is pleased to announce that Rockland Public Schools wrapped up its summer enrichment programs last week.
The programs, which were offered free of charge from July 26 to Aug. 13, were held for both elementary and middle school students. They offered exciting hands-on thematic academic learning with projects and special visits from outside vendors.
The elementary program, for Rockland children entering grades 1-4, included themes such as Rockets and Robots (space and robotics week), Aardvarks to Zebras (animal science week) and Fun & Games (carnival week). The program was held at the R. Stewart Esten School.
The middle school program, for Rockland children entering grades 5-8, included themes such as animal science week, carnival week and Olympics week. The program was held at the Rogers Middle School.
“Our summer enrichment programs provided a safe environment for students that was both fun and academically engaging, and we thank the families who participated,” Superintendent Cron said. “We also thank the staff who took part, as well as the special guests who provided exciting hands-on learning opportunities for the students each week.”
