HUDSON –Chief Richard DiPersio and the members of the Hudson Police Department would like to thank all of the members of the community who attended the department’s open house last weekend.
On Saturday, Aug. 14, the Hudson Police Department’s new Community Action Team hosted an open house at the police station. Attendees had the opportunity to take part in tours of the department’s headquarters, equipment and vehicle demonstrations, a bicycle rodeo, ice cream stand, games and more.
“We were so happy to see the turnout that we had. We were excited to share some of what we do with all of you and make it an enjoyable event for the community. The laughs, the smiling faces, and the conversation between your HPD staff and the community was an amazing sight, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with our community and feel their support,” Chief DiPersio said.
He added, “We strive to make every connection — every encounter — an opportunity to build trust and to develop positive relationships. We know we have a huge responsibility in our profession, and that we must earn respect and trust through professionalism and integrity for all. And we will always hold ourselves to the highest of standards.”
Saturday’s open house was the first event hosted by the CAT, which is tasked with expanding the department’s community engagement through interactive programming
The CAT, which includes 19 members of the department, was created as part of the department’s commitment to expanding its community engagement through new, interactive programming that builds on the success of its existing initiatives.
