PEPPERELL — Chief David Scott regrets to report the unexpected passing of Lt. Alan Lessieur, who died yesterday after suffering a medical emergency at the police station. He was 60 years old.

Lt. Lessieur joined the Pepperell Police Department in 1989, and at the time also worked as a member of the Milford, New Hampshire, Police Department. He also previously served as a member of the U.S. Air Force.

“We are all deeply saddened by Alan’s passing. He possessed a unique combination of dedication, leadership and compassion, and had a unique way of connecting with co-workers and strangers alike,” Chief Scott said. “We will miss his bellowing laughter during morning roll call, his endless supply of movie quotes, and his commitment and dedication to the community.”

Details about a memorial service will be provided as they become available.
