HOPKINTON — Chief Joseph Bennett is pleased to announce that the Hopkinton Police Department is seeking qualified applicants to fill a vacancy for a full-time Police Officer position.
“The Hopkinton Police Department is seeking to add a highly-qualified individual to our ranks to continue our efforts in maintaining a safe and peaceful community,” Chief Bennett said. “We encourage all those who have attended or who are currently enrolled in a police academy to apply.”
The Hopkinton Police Department offers full-time officers competitive wages with the ability to work overtime and details, educational incentives, shift differential and a robust benefits package.
Applicants should note that this position is only open to candidates who have either successfully passed and received certification from a full-time police officer training academy, or are currently enrolled and attending the training academy as recognized by the Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC).

In order to be eligible for a position, all candidates must also be able to meet the following basic qualifications:
- High School Graduate/GED equivalent
- Ability to obtain a valid Massachusetts Firearms License to Carry
- Be at least 21 years old on date of appointment
- Must have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license on date of appointment
- Must pass a physical and drug screening
- Must pass a physical fitness test
- Must pass a psychological examination
- Must be a United States citizen
