ROWLEY — The Rowley Water Department is pleased to announce that it currently has four open positions, and is seeking applicants to fill the roles.
The department is seeking to hire a distribution assistant working foreman, distribution utility maintenance laborer, distribution working foreman and a water treatment operator 1/assistant chief operator.

All positions require the candidate to hold a high school diploma.
To apply for the distribution assistant working foreman position, applicants must have:
- A Massachusetts Class B commercial driver’s license with air brake endorsement or the ability to attain such license within six months of hire
- A Massachusetts distribution operator’s license – D-2 or the ability to attain such license within six months of hire
- A Massachusetts treatment operator’s license – T-2 or the ability to attain such license within six months of hire
- A hoisting 2B 1B license.
To apply for the distribution utility maintenance laborer position, applicants must have:
- A valid vehicle operator’s license
- A Class B commercial driver’s license with air brake endorsement or the ability to attain such license within 18 months of hire
- A Mass distribution 1 OIT operator’s license from the Massachusetts Board of Licensure or the ability to attain such license within 12 months of hire
- A Massachusetts treatment 1 OIT operator’s license from the Massachusetts Board of Licensure or the ability to such license within 24 months of hire.
To apply for the distribution working foreman position, applicants must have:
- A Massachusetts Class B commercial driver’s license with air brake endorsement
- A Massachusetts distribution operator’s license – D-2
- A Massachusetts T-2 license
- A hoisting 2A 1B license
- Completed OSHA-10
To apply for the water treatment operator 1/assistant chief operator position, applicants must have:
- A Massachusetts treatment 2 license
- A distribution 2 water treatment plant operator’s license from the Massachusetts Board of Licensure or the ability to attain such license within six months of hire
- A valid vehicle operator’s license
- A Class C commercial driver’s license.
- Completed OSHA-10
All candidates should submit a resume and application to the Town of Rowley Personnel Department at PO Box 275. Some positions also require applicants to submit a copy of their driving record from the Registry of Motor Vehicles. Positions will remain open until filled.
