WHITMAN — Police Chief Timothy Hanlon and Fire Chief Timothy Clancy report that the Whitman Police and Fire Departments responded to a serious crash Thursday night involving a motor vehicle and motorcycle.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Whitman Police and Fire responded to a 911 call for a motor vehicle crash in the area of Bedford Street. Upon arrival, first responders found a motor vehicle, a 2017 Subaru BRZ, had collided with a motorcycle, a 2020 Harley-Davidson FLHCS, causing serious damage to both vehicles.
The operator of the motorcycle was transported to the Essex Street landing zone by Whitman Fire-Rescue and taken by medical helicopter to a nearby hospital. The operator of the motor vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital by a mutual aid ambulance from Abington.
The crash remains under investigation by the Whitman Police Department and Massachusetts State Police Reconstruction Team. The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department assisted on scene.
