Sgt. Crosby to be Marion Police Department’s First Female Supervisor
MARION — Chief Richard Nighelli is pleased to announce the promotion of Alisha Crosby to the rank of sergeant.
Sgt. Crosby will become the first woman to hold a supervisory position in the department’s history. She was appointed to the rank of sergeant during the Marion Board of Selectmen meeting on Tuesday, June 22, effective June 27.
“I am very pleased to announce Sgt. Crosby as our newest sergeant and this department’s first female supervisor,” Chief Nighelli said. “Sgt. Crosby is a valued member of the Marion Police Department and has earned this promotion with her many years of service and dedication to the Marion community.”
Sgt. Crosby has been with the Marion Police Department for 15 years, beginning her career in 2006. She is currently the school resource officer at the Sippican School, a field training officer and a certified sexual assault investigator. She is also a key contributor to the department’s annual toy drive for children in need.
Prior to her career in Marion, she was an Auxiliary Police Officer with the Randolph Police Department from 2001-2006.
Sgt. Crosby has completed several specialized trainings, including Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training and training on trauma-informed interviewing and care, suicide prevention and intervention, identify theft and cyber crimes and more. She is also a certified ALICE active shooter training instructor.
She has been recognized by the Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement (MAWLE) and the Justice Resource Institute, both for her work with foster children.
