MAYNARD — Chief Michael Noble is pleased to share that the Maynard Police Department has added mental health and substance use prevention resources to their website for residents to utilize as they need.
The resources tab includes contacts for Mackenzie Dezieck, the Jail Diversion Program Coordinator and Clinician, Eliot Community Human Services, a psychiatric emergency services 24-hour hotline and the Massachusetts Alcohol and Drug Helpline.
The Maynard Police Department’s mental health resources can be found here.
Also included in the mental health resources is a link to the Central Middlesex Police Partnership, which works to address opioid and other substance use issues through prevention, intervention and education. They offer resources for substance abuse and community support as well.
By making this information readily available online, the Maynard Police Department is hoping to increase accessibility and help residents receive assistance when facing a mental health or substance-related crisis.
“We understand that stress, anxiety and mental health issues have only increased since the beginning of the pandemic. It’s time we stop treating mental health as less important than physical health,” Chief Noble said. “We encourage all residents to become familiar with the resources on our website and utilize them if they need help.”
Residents should remember that in the event of a mental health-related emergency, they should always call 911.
