TAUNTON — Chief Edward J. Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred earlier this morning on Dean Avenue.
At approximately 7:50 a.m., Taunton Police responded to 3 Dean Ave. for a report of a man who had been stabbed.
Upon arrival, officers located a 33-year-old Taunton man who had suffered multiple stab wounds to the back. The man was taken by ambulance to an area hospital with injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Through a subsequent investigation, a 30-year-old female suspect was arrested by Taunton Police. The suspect’s name is not being released at this time, pending the issuance of a criminal complaint. She will likely face numerous charges including Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
The incident is being actively investigated by the Taunton Police Department.
At this time, police do not believe there is any active danger to the community, and the incident does not appear to be random in nature.
