EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Paul O’Brien reports that the East Bridgewater Police Department arrested a man on multiple drug and firearm charges following a traffic stop on Wednesday.
BRYSON MONTEIRO, AGE 18, OF BROCKTON, was charged with:
- Possession of a Firearm Without a FID Card (Two Counts)
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License (Two Counts)
- Possession of Ammunition Without a FID Card (Two Counts)
- Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
- Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
- Trafficking More Than 10 Grams of Fentanyl
- Possession of a Class E Substance With Intent to Distribute (Diphenidine)
- Failure to Stop For Police
- Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Marked Lanes Violation
- Passing Violation
On Wednesday, June 2 at approximately 3 p.m., East Bridgewater Police Detectives were conducting proactive patrols when the driver of a 2020 white Chrysler Pacifica rental vehicle allegedly conducted a marked lanes violation at the intersection of Union Street and Central Street.
Detectives activated their emergency lights and siren to initiate a traffic stop, to which the vehicle initially did not pull over. Once the vehicle stopped on West Union Street, the driver, who was later identified as MONTEIRO, was placed under arrest without further incident.
Upon further investigation, a search of the vehicle yielded two illegally possessed firearms, approximately 14 grams of suspected Fentanyl, approximately 10 grams of suspected Xanax pills, multiple cell phones and a small amount of money.
MONTEIRO is currently being held on $70,000 cash bail pending his arraignment at Brockton District Court tomorrow.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
