TAUNTON — Superintendent John Cabral and Director of Food Services Karen Pappa are pleased to announce that Taunton Public Schools received a 2021 Summer Eats Grant from Project Bread.
The $4,000 Summer Eats Grant will be used to fund additional equipment needs, staffing expenses and promotional materials for Taunton Public Schools’ Remote Meal Service.
“On behalf of Taunton Public Schools and our food services department, we would like to thank Project Bread for their generous grant in support of our summer meal program,” Superintendent Cabral said. “Grants such as this one allow us to address the issue of food insecurity through providing kids and teens in our community with meals throughout the summer.”
Taunton Public Schools’ Remote Meal Service is offered on Fridays throughout the summer from July 2 to Aug. 20. Any child 18 years old and younger are eligible to receive meals, and Taunton residency isn’t required and no I.D. is needed.
On Fridays, people will be able to pick up five breakfast meals and five lunch meals at the following locations:
- Taunton High School, 50 Williams St., from 10-11 a.m.
- Paul Bunker Drive from 10-10:25 a.m.
- Highland Hills Apartment, 30 Highland St., from 10:35-11 a.m.
- Bristol Commons, 101 Fairground Ave., from 10:30-11 a.m.
