Blackstone Police Report Serious Motor Vehicle Crash on Blackstone Street Resulting in Partial Road Closure

BLACKSTONE — Chief Gregory Gilmore and the Blackstone Police Department report that a portion of Blackstone Street remains closed Friday following a serious single-vehicle motor vehicle crash.

BLACKSTONE — Chief Gregory Gilmore and the Blackstone Police Department report that a portion of Blackstone Street remains closed Friday following a serious single-vehicle motor vehicle crash.

At approximately 4 p.m., Blackstone Police responded to the area of 56 Blackstone St. for the report of a motor vehicle crash. The operator of the vehicle and an adult passenger were both treated at the scene for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. The operator was transported by Blackstone Rescue to a nearby hospital and the passenger was transported to a nearby hospital via UMass Memorial LifeFlight.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the Blackstone Police Department and the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC) Accident Reconstruction Team, and no additional information regarding the operator and the passenger is available at this time. There is currently no estimate for when the portion of Blackstone Street will be reopened.
