RAYMOND — The Raymond School Board wishes to share the following letter with the Raymond School District community on the retirement of Superintendent Tina McCoy:
“It is with great regret that we must announce the resignation and retirement of our Superintendent Dr. Tina McCoy effective June 30, 2021. This journey started over four years ago when Dr. McCoy applied for Superintendent. It was a nervous time for all of us and whoever took over the position was going to have some big shoes to fill. Not only did she steady our nerves, but led this district forward. Even before her first full week of being superintendent she showed everyone that she was going to be a part of our community as she joined us for our Fourth of July Parade as she has done every year since. From taking interest in the Raymond Coalition for Youth, to attending sporting events she has been involved. When she heard that children were going to have a drive through celebration at the middle and elementary schools during in June she not only joined in saying hello to all of our students and staff she even dressed up as a bullfrog for our little ones. Dr. McCoy may not have grown up in or lived in Raymond, but she made sure she was a part of our community and we are very grateful for that.
“Change is not easy but with her leadership we made so many things possible. What has happened in the past four years and in the middle of a pandemic has wildly exceeded our expectations. From competency based grading, one-on-one technology, and moving not only our 4th grade, but our preschool, Dr. McCoy set some lofty goals and expectations, always keeping in mind the community and children of Raymond.
“Though Dr. McCoy is leaving us, she has left us a great team. A team we are very confident that will help us continue our journey forward.
“We wish Dr. McCoy good luck on her retirement and thank her family for letting her be a part of our community and our lives. Thank you for all the hard work and dedication.
“It is our intention that at our next school board meeting on April 7, the board will have the information needed to determine the best course of action going forward. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at schoolboard@sau33.com or at 603-560-2051.”
Sincerely,
The Raymond School Board
