On Monday, March 15, at about 7 p.m., Bridgewater Police Officer Nicholas Mantalos, who was conducting traffic enforcement in Central Square, made a registration check on a 2012 gray Infiniti sedan. The check revealed that the owner of the vehicle, WILLIAMS, was wanted on a warrant issued from Brockton District Court.
Officer Mantalos stopped the vehicle on Forest Street, and identified the driver as WILLIAMS. After being questioned, WILLIAMS was placed under arrest for the warrant and was transported to the Bridgewater Police Station for booking.
During the inventory of the vehicle, Bridgewater police located a 9mm semi-automatic handgun, a large capacity feeding device with 16 rounds of 9mm ammunition and several thousand U.S. dollars in the glove compartment. The firearm, the large capacity feeding device, the ammunition and the cash were seized and brought to the Bridgewater Police Station.
WILLIAMS was arraigned Tuesday in Brockton District Court.
