NORTH SUTTON, N.H.– Superintendent Winfried Feneberg is pleased to announce that a clinic will be held later this month for all Kearsarge Regional School District staff who wish to be vaccinated.
The clinic will be held on Friday, March 19 at Kearsarge Regional Middle School in North Sutton and has been made possible in collaboration with the Greater Sullivan County Public Health Network. The clinic is only available to employees of the district.
While some of the district’s staff have already received vaccinations, having been eligible through phases 1A and/or 1B of the state’s vaccination distribution plan, staff who have yet to receive their vaccination become eligible under phase 2A on Friday, March 12. Kearsarge staff are not required to be vaccinated, but were given the opportunity to sign up for the clinic earlier this week. Approximately 325 district staff have signed up to attend the clinic.
The district does not know at this time if the clinic will offer the Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccinations. However, if staff are given the Pfizer or Moderna vaccination, a second clinic for their second doses will be scheduled at a later date. If staff receive the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine a second clinic will not be necessary.
“Our teachers and district staff have sincerely given their all this school year for our students. They’ve created engaging academic opportunities and curriculum, and adapted to entirely new ways of teaching,” Superintendent Feneberg said. “They’ve helped students and families in need of social emotional support, have facilitated access to breakfast and lunch meals, and have provided other key resources needed more than ever amid the pandemic. We are deeply thankful the Greater Sullivan County Public Health Network is working with us, particularly our nursing staff, facilities department and the district’s critical decision unit to offer this opportunity. It is a great relief to know our staff will soon be vaccinated against this disease.”
March 19 is a teacher professional development workday for the district, and classes are not being held. As a result teachers will not miss class in order to attend the clinic.
Once district staff are vaccinated, the district will review its current COVID-19 safety plan and make any necessary modifications to current practices necessary to remain in alignment with prevailing medical guidance offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services.
