WHITMAN — Superintendent Jeffrey Szymaniak and Whitman-Hanson Regional High School Art Instructor Christina Maher are pleased to share that several student artists will be featured virtually as a part of the Senior Art Showcase Series.
As part of the Showcase Series, the WHRHS art department and the school’s Art in Action program will be featuring several senior student artists on an individual basis in the coming months. Students will be featured in the three showcases along the art hallway for approximately two weeks each. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the school is encouraging community members to view students’ artwork virtually.
The first student to be featured is senior Abigail DeLory.
During her time at Whitman-Hanson Regional High School, DeLory has been a part of Art in Action and has taken numerous art courses. She has also participated in art shows and community art projects.
DeLory plans to attend college and attain a degree in engineering. She hopes to combine her passion for art and design with future engineering projects to create things that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

“Normally, we invite community members to view our students’ artwork in person, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic that is not possible this year,” Maher said. “Over the past four years, our seniors have worked so hard and have grown as both artists and students. While we wish that we could celebrate their accomplishments in person, we invite all members of the community to view their artwork online as we feature them on an individual basis over the next few months.”
Additional students will be announced and featured by the district in the coming weeks.
