BURLINGTON — Chief Michael Kent reports that the Burlington Police Department responded to more than two-dozen reported vehicle break-ins earlier this week.
On Wednesday, March 3, Burlington Police were dispatched to investigate approximately 30 break-ins to cars parked at homes on Marion, Meadowvale and Mohawk Roads, as well as Paulson and Algonquin Drives, and Carey and Pathwoods Avenues.
All vehicles that were reported broken into were left unlocked. Burlington Police strongly urge residents to remember to lock their doors at all times when leaving their vehicles unattended.
“No community is immune from this type of criminal activity, but the easiest thing residents can do to prevent this kind of crime is simply to lock their doors and secure their belongings by removing them from inside their vehicles,” Chief Kent said.
The break-ins are believed to have occurred between 1-4 a.m. on March 3. Items stolen include sunglasses, loose change, gift cards, jackets and a wristlet. During the investigation, officers determined additional cars were likely broken into, though nothing was reported stolen in those cases.
Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact the Burlington Police Department at 781-272-1212.
