LUDLOW — Chief Daniel Valadas reports the Ludlow Police Department arrested and charged a Ludlow man on Monday following an extensive multi-jurisdictional investigation, and arrested the man’s son on a pre-existing warrant from another agency at the same time.
JOEY D. FITZGERALD, AGE 43, OF LUDLOW, was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Class A Substance (Heroin), Subsequent Offense
- Possession of a Class B Substance (Cocaine), Subsequent Offense
- Receiving a Firearm with a Defaced Number
- Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
ETHAN D. FITZGERALD, AGE 25, OF LUDLOW, was taken into custody at that time as well on an outstanding warrant from the Monson Police Department.
At approximately 3 p.m. on Monday, March 1, the Hampden County Special Response Team (HCSRT) executed a search warrant at a home on Sewall Street in Ludlow. Both men were arrested at that time as the result of a multi-jurisdictional investigation led by the Ludlow Police Department, Monson Police Department and Detectives from the Massachusetts State Police.
During the subsequent search of the residence, police found a .45 pistol with defaced serial numbers, three magazines containing .45 caliber ammunition, a holster, ammunition bag, 15 baggies of what is believed to be heroin and a baggie with what is believed to be powder cocaine.
JOEY D. FITZGERALD is currently being held on $2,540 cash bail and was scheduled to appear in Palmer District Court for an arraignment on Tuesday, March 2.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
