MANSFIELD — Superintendent Teresa Murphy is pleased to report that the Mansfield Public Schools received a donation this week to help fund the annual Karl D. Clemmey Scholarship.
On Wednesday, Jan. 27, Superintendent Murphy was presented a check, which totaled $4,000, by members of the Clemmey family. This check, in addition to $6,000 previously donated, brings the Karl D. Clemmey Scholarship total to $10,000.
A total of 10 scholarships, each for $1,000, will be awarded to graduating Mansfield High School seniors this spring.
The Clemmey family has provided scholarships to Mansfield students since 2004.
Those present for the check presentation included Karl D. Clemmey, Mansfield High School Class of 1958 and Elizabeth Clemmey, Mansfield High School Class of 1977.
Karl Clemmey is the founder of the Mansfield-based commercial real estate agency, Clemco LLC.
“The Clemmey family are longtime Mansfield residents and have always been very strong supporters of our schools,” Superintendent Murphy said. “We are grateful for their continued generosity, which is especially important this year as so many families struggle with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. We thank Karl, Elizabeth and the entire Clemmey family for all they do to support the Mansfield schools.”
