CANTON — Superintendent Jill Rossetti reports that the Blue Hills Regional Technical School is investigating an incident involving students allegedly using a racial slur in a video.
Early Friday morning, Jan. 22, Blue Hills Regional Technical School was notified of an incident in which multiple Blue Hills students allegedly used a racial slur in a video. It appears that the video was not filmed on school grounds and it is unclear when the video was taken.
The school district immediately notified the Canton Police Department and the district has launched its own internal investigation into the matter.
“At Blue Hills Regional, we thoroughly investigate all allegations of racist behavior and we condemn such behavior, as there is no place for such despicable language or actions in our society,” Superintendent Rossetti said. “At this time we have launched our own internal investigation into the matter and will work closely with the Canton Police Department to assist them in their investigation. We are committed to maintaining a safe and accepting environment for everyone at Blue Hills.”
Guidance counselors will be made available today for any students that wish to talk about the incident.
