GEORGETOWN – Police Chief Donald C. Cudmore and the Georgetown Police Department would like to thank the G. Mello Disposal Corp. for their recent donation to the department.
The G. Mello Disposal Corp. donated $7,500 to the Georgetown Police Department on Thursday, Dec. 24to assist with the department’s upgrade of their radio system, which began in January. In order ensure the best possible service for residents, the department is purchasing additional communications equipment and services to update the department’s technology. The funds will be used to purchase a number of portable radios that will be fully compatible with the new system once it is completed.
“Greg, Jason and the entire Mello family have donated tens of thousands of dollars to this community over the years and have provided free services to the police department since I started my career 36 years ago,” Chief Cudmore said. “The partnership has been invaluable at times given our budget constraints throughout the years. I am grateful they call Georgetown their home.”
