DIGHTON — Chief Christopher Maguy would like to thank a local Dighton business for its donation of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Dighton Fire Department.
The donated items include 100 custom-made face shields that have Dighton Fire Department printed on them. They were produced and donated by Armin Innovative Products/Advance Looseleaf Technologies.
The donation was facilitated by Kate McGuire, a project coordinator with the company. Armin Innovative Products/Advance Looseleaf Technologies has also offered the department additional PPE if the need arises in the future.
First responders will use the equipment to protect them from exposure to illness as they respond to calls involving people who may be reporting symptoms in line with COVID-19 or may have been in contact with a positive COVID-19 case. As the virus continues to spread, the department aims to keep personnel healthy so that they can continue to serve the community.
“We are incredibly thankful for this generous donation, especially as we are seeing COVID-19 cases drastically increase once again,” Chief Maguy said. “Armin Innovative Products/Advance Looseleaf Technologies’ generosity will go a long way in ensuring the safety of our personnel. We greatly appreciate the support from a local company that’s right here in our own community.”
The donation will be issued to fire personnel as needed as the COVID-19 situation continues to develop.
