BROOKLINE — Chief John F. Sullivan reports that the Brookline Fire Department responded to a possible hazardous materials incident at the Brookline Department of Public Works today.
At 12:34 p.m., the Brookline Fire Department was dispatched to the Municipal Service Center, 870 Hammond St., for a report of a chemical odor. The METROFIRE District HazMat Response Team was requested for a Level 1 response to investigate the possible causes of the odor.
Four Public Works employees were evaluated on scene and subsequently transported to area hospitals as a precaution. The cause of the incident remains under investigation at this time.
