Transfer Station to be Open to Marion and Rochester Residents Only Beginning in January

MARION — Town Administrator James McGrail, the Marion Public Works Department and the Marion Harbormaster’s Office would like to remind users of the Marion Transfer Station of the policy changes that will occur in 2021.

Following the disbandment of the Carver Marion Wareham Regional Refuse Disposal District (CMWRRDD), the Marion Transfer Station located on Benson Brook Road will be run by the Town of Marion beginning in January 2021.

Beginning on Jan. 1, 2021, the Marion Transfer Station will be open to Marion and Rochester residents only.

Admission to the Marion Transfer Station will be permitted only if a vehicle displays a valid Marion Transfer Station sticker. Marion residents are able to purchase 2021 stickers via mail. Directions for purchasing a sticker by mail can be found here.

Rochester residents must contact the Rochester Town Hall in order to purchase their stickers.

Carver and Wareham residents have access to the Marion Transfer Station with their 2020 sticker until Dec. 31, 2020. Residents of these towns should contact their respective Town Halls for information regarding trash collection/removal plans for 2021.
