SAUGUS — Chief Michael Ricciardelli is pleased to announce that Saugus Patrol Officer Alexander Klimarchuk was promoted to Sergeant earlier this month.
Officer Klimarchuk was sworn in as a sergeant by Saugus Town Manager Scott Crabtree last week on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at an outdoor ceremony at the Saugus Town Hall on Central Street.
“Congratulations to Sgt. Klimarchuk on this well-deserved promotion,” Chief Ricciardelli said. “Sgt. Klimarchuk has proven himself to be deeply dedicated to police work and serving our community, and we are confident he will thrive in this role.”
Sgt. Klimarchuk will be the Patrol Supervisor on the overnight shift, where he will have a direct supervisory role overseeing and managing all employees assigned to the patrol division. He is currently participating in a four week Sergeant’s field training program within the department, and is also scheduled to undergo 56 hours of New Supervisor training over the course of the next few months.
Sgt. Klimarchuk has served as a patrol officer for the last five years at the Saugus Police Department and joined the department in July 2014. He also has served as the Field Training Officer and the Juvenile Affairs Detective during his time with the Saugus Police Department.
Sgt. Klimarchuk holds a bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies from Southern New Hampshire University. He was also previously a platoon Sergeant for the United States Marine Corps, where he served for eight years.
