WHAT:

The Town of Acton is considering improvements to the 19-21 Maple St. property and has engaged a consulting team to support this effort. The property currently features 40 reserved parking spaces, multiple bicycle racks and two buildings. Preliminary ideas for possible site improvements include:

  • Parking expansion
  • Improved pickup and drop-off
  • Additional bicycle parking
  • A new access point to the station
  • Re-use of existing buildings
  • Removal of one or both buildings
  • Realignment of the Stow Street intersection with a new and improved lot entrance

This forum will be an opportunity to review existing conditions on the site and offer comments on potential improvements.

Online Survey

Residents are also encouraged to complete a survey to share input on parking issues affecting South Acton Station and ideas for improvements to the parking area at 19-21 Maple St.

Input provided by residents will help the town develop a deeper understanding of how well the existing 19-21 Maple St. parking area serves the needs and expectations of South Acton Station users. Residents’ responses will also help the town identify travel and parking patterns and preferences, obstacles to better transit access, determine non-parking improvements and uses that could be beneficial at the site, and to anticipate changes that will affect future transit access and parking needs.

This survey is expected to take approximately 5-7 minutes to complete. All responses will remain confidential and only be reported in the aggregate.

Click here to access the survey.
