BRIDGEWATER — Town Manager Michael Dutton is pleased to announce that the Bridgewater Council on Aging held a successful drive-by flu shot clinic earlier this month.
On Thursday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Walgreens staff set up the clinic in the parking lot of the Bridgewater Senior Center to administer flu shots to Bridgewater seniors and town staff. Throughout the clinic, 40 flu shots were given.
“I want to extend a big thank you to all of our staff and volunteers for their tremendous work in preparing for and assisting during this clinic,” said Emily Williams, director of the Bridgewater Council on Aging. “We’d also like to express our appreciation to Walgreens for working with us to provide this clinic to the senior members of our community as well as the town employees.”
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), flu activity usually begins to increase in October and often peaks between December and February, but can last later into the spring. Because of COVID-19, reducing the spread of other respiratory illness is especially important this year.
